Police have charged a man with firearm and drug trafficking offences.
On September 18th, at approximately 7 pm, investigators with the Gun and Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, arrested a man on the Chain of Lakes Trail in Halifax in relation to an ongoing firearm and drug investigation. During the arrest, investigators located and seized a loaded handgun, a quantity of drugs and a quantity of money.
Alexander Vandonick, 35, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of: Possess weapon dangerous to public peace, store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations, unauthorized possession of firearm, possess firearm - no license/certificate, possess loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition obtained by crime, possession for purpose of trafficking (x2), possession for the purpose of distributing, and possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling.
