Paris, Porte de Versailles (14/10/24 to 20/10/24): The first day of the PMS 2024 was on 14/10/24 and was reserved exclusively for the Media covering the show. The BMW Group Press Conference was the first one to open the show on Monday morning, 14/10/24. This was the 90th Edition of the show and record numbers of attendees was quite surprising given that the automobile industry was still feeling the after effects of the global pandemic from four years ago. For the PMS 2024, there were seven (7) total world premiers and two (2) concept cars. Impressively, there were a total of nine (9) Chinese motor companies expanding their presence in France and in Europe. Major automakers BMW, Volkswagen and Toyota showed a resurgence as they were absent in 2022.
ALPINE 390 CONCEPT CAR: French automaker introduced the ALPINE 390, ELECTRIC SPORT FASTBACK CONCEPT CAR. Based on Renault's AmpR Medium Platform and Nissan Ariya and Renault's Scenic E-tech. Making it's impressive debut with Mr. Pierre Gasly at the Alpine booth and who is currently driving one of Alpine's Formula 1 car that podiumed at the recent 2024 Brazil Grand Prix held in Interlagos Circuit, Sao Paolo, Brazil.
AUDI Q6 E-TRON SPORTBACK: World Premier from the AUDI AG Group. Nomenclature, moving forward, changes are in the forefront of the premier luxury division of the VW Group. Even numbers pertain of Electric Powertrains and Odd numbers pertain to the short-lived Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) given new EU emission regulations in about 10 years.
GAC Motors: World premier of the Electric SUV, AION V. This was not the first time the GAC Motors have exhibited at the PMS. However, other competitiors in the expanding Chinese Electric market have come to the PMS 2024. The include the following companies: BYD, Leapmotor, Hongqi, Maxus, Seres, AITO, Xpeng and GAC Group Motors.
